Luckily lots of other people think so too and so we make more and more all the time. And we love making them!
In 2014 we won awards for our Pork Pies in Melton Mowbray (where they know a thing or two about pies) so we decided to make more!
More and more people can now enjoy the unique and wholesome flavours of our products.
Why are they different? Because all our recipes are unique and distinctive using the best local ingredients we can find. And we make them with great care using traditional methods.
We make our own pastry for the pies using locally milled flour and bake in small batches so the pies are always delivered fresh to our customers.
The core of our business is Pork Pies which are traditionally enjoyed as a cold feast of flavoured pork in a crisp, biscuity, hot water crust pastry.
They are also delicious served warm or hot! We make these in four sizes from an individual size to a 4lb Pork Pie which will happily feed 8 or 10 hungry people.
We make a small but growing range of ‘hot eating’ pies. We entered two of our pies in the British Pie Awards in 2016 and both were awarded “Gold”!
The range of pies is slowly growing and we supply traditional retailers, butchers, delis and pubs.
In addition we supply delicious Sausage Rolls, a re-invented Buckinghamshire staple – the Buckinghamshire Bacon Badger, and Big Dog Chilli Rolls which combine puff pastry with sausagemeat, chilli flakes and mature Cheddar cheese!

WHAT MAKES OUR PIES DIFFERENT?
Because all our recipes are unique and distinctive using the best local ingredients we can find. And we make them with great care using traditional methods. We make our own pastry for the pies using locally milled flour and bake in small batches so the pies are always delivered fresh to our customers.
Padbury Pork Pie
This is Monty’s version of a traditional Pork Pie using prime local pork shoulder, sage, spices and seasoning. Pleasingly different, this robustly flavoured pie is our best seller and Winner of a Silver Medal in the Pork Pie Class at the British Pie Awards 2014. We are very proud of this pie!
Adstock Pork Pie
Stilton Cheese and walnut pieces blend deliciously with local free range pork and a hint of spices to make a wonderfully smooth, creamy and flavoursome pie. This pie won a Bronze Medal in the Savoury Pie Class at the British Pie Awards 2014.
The pork pies have different markings on the lids to differentiate them: Padbury has 1 hole, Winslow 2, Buckingham 3 (in a triangle), Adstock 3 in a row. Horwood has a Star on the top. And the Stony Pork Pie has four holes forming a square on the top crust.
Winslow Pork Pie
A more highly spiced pie which includes crumbled black pudding pieces, chilli flakes and garlic to give your taste-buds a thorough work out. Inspired by a visit to the butcher’s shop in the Buckinghanshire town of Winslow, the pie has now found favour and an ardent following far and wide.
Horwood Pork Pie
This is the latest addition to the range and is made from the Padbury Pie blend of pork but with central layers of home cooked ham and chicken fillet. It’s got it all! The textures and flavours compliment each other famously in this pie. Due to its construction, it is not available in the individual size.
We make an ornate 2.5 kilo pork or game pie with decorated top and fluted sides. These are special order and prices vary depending on fillings.
Stony Pork Pie
The proven Padbury Pork Pie recipe is used in the Stony Pork Pie which incorporates a juicy layer of plump apricots offering a delightful contrast to the pork and a delicious taste combination. Not available in individual size.
Buckingham Pork Pie
A much lighter, sweeter pie and more of a picnic pie than a pork pie, the Buckingham Pie incorporates Bramley apple, home cooked ham pieces, onion, Cheddar cheese, herbs and a hint of English mustard. What’s not to love?
Addington Pork Pie
In this pie the traditional Padbury mix plays host to a whole boiled egg to appease lovers of the traditional Gala Pie. An Egg-cellent product – only available in the larger size pies.

OTHER PIES AND PASTRIES
We also produce a small but delicious selection of savoury pies which are available fresh baked or frozen in an individual deep fill size. Using an all butter shortcrust pastry, made to our own recipe, the pies are topped off with a puff pastry lid.
Chicken, Ham and Stilton Pie
Deliciously rich and moorish combination of home-cooked Ham, Stilton Cheese and plump succulent chicken breast in a cream sauce. Gold award-winner.
Chicken & Mushroom Pie
Chicken fillet in a traditional creamy mushroom sauce – a classic favourite.
Steak & Rebellion Ale Pie
We use fresh, local steak from the Vale of Aylesbury and slow cook it with Ale from the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow to make a delicious, rich and thick gravy. A real favourite and probably Monty Pieman’s best selling savoury pie.
Spice lovers will enjoy this rich blend of minced local lamb, curry spices, chilli peppers and peas.
This list is subject to change as we continue to develop and introduce new flavours and seasonal specials.
The Big Dog
One of Monty’s masterpieces. Butcher’s best sausage meat with caramelised onions, herbs, grated mature Cheddar cheese and chilli powder ‘Swiss-Rolled’ in a flaky puff pastry case. One helluva snack!
Our hand made sausage rolls just keep selling and selling. Using the best butcher’s sausage meat, onions and herbs, these traditional favourites have a taste which is a far cry from the cheap and flabby mass produced imitations!
Buckinghamshire Bacon Badgers
Monty’s version of an age old local staple: the Bacon Badger is made with smoked bacon, potato, onion, sage, parsley and black pepper all rolled up in a suet pastry crust. Comfort food at its best!
What the pie-eaters are saying…
All in all, it’s (The Adstock) a very good pie.
It was the best pork pie ever. Even the pies that I’ve loved so much for so long from ****** (regular Butcher of the Year) don’t compare.
Thank you very much for the large Winslow Pie which was admired for its appearance and taste. It was a perfect addition to our shoot tea with enough left over for us to continue to enjoy over the following day.
